We Stand with Trans Athletes

Stowe Trails Partnership stands strong with trans athletes.

The local Vermont trans community has experienced a string of hate crimes and harassment this spring, including hate speech toward trans cyclists. STIP will not tolerate words or acts of violence or hate in any capacity. Trans athletes and allies deserve respect, support, and to feel safe in their participation in outdoor recreation and in moving through the world. This and all other allyship is core to our mission and vision.

Partnering with the community, we build, maintain, and promote access to a diverse trail network that brings joy to all users. Through partnerships with landowners and organizations, we work to create a sustainable and fun experience for all outdoor enthusiasts.

Our vision is to create and expand an interconnected network that connects mountain bikers and other users of all abilities and backgrounds to diverse recreational opportunities and a shared sense of community.  We further look to reduce barriers associated with trail access, supporting a welcoming and safe environment.

If you or someone you know is in need of additional resources and/or support, we recommend the Pride Center of Vermont. You can visit their website for more information and resources. Please join us in learning how to be the best ally you can be.
