Friendly Reminder: Trails & Dogs This Summer

STP loves our dogs!

But we are also aware that not every trail adventure is suitable for your dog. Due to the significant usage that we are seeing across our network, STP recommends keeping Fido at home or leashed during weeknights & weekends in the Cady Hill Forest network. Taking Fido to our less busy Sterling Valley network is a great option during these times.

If you arrive at a trailhead and the parking lot is full, consider riding, hiking, or running with your dog in another less crowded area to avoid any issues that could occur.

Please remember that the Town of Stowe has specific rules that every dog owner should understand before using the trails:

  • Dogs must be under CONTROL at all times.
  • Owners are responsible for immediate and proper removal of their dog’s feces from any property other than their own.

Follow the link here to read a post about why leashing your dog on trails is safer for you, your dog, and our community from the Waterbury Veterinary Hospital. They have useful information as you enjoy the summer months with your four-legged friend!
